We live for the weekends! Sundays are best. it’s when everything slows down and nothing usually happens, it’s when you sit back have a beer and stare at the screen.

Having no commitments for the day is great! But doing nothing isn’t.

Proactive Breaks and Reactive Breaks

When I let the day dictate what will happen are days when I plop down on the bed exhausted. (Why am I tired?) Oddly a body at rest is a tired one.

There are 2 kinda of tired, Happy tired and Tired-Tired.

Happy tired is when you’ve had a full-day, it could be a day spent out with the family or perhaps a day spent doing something meaninguful

Tired-tired is when you’ve done nothing remarkable, had a bag of chips and sat down in front of the TV.

One energizes while the other one depletes.

The difference?

Be Intentional

Intention. It’s reacting vs deciding.

To maximize your day of rest here are a few things I would suggest:

Decide to do nothing — It’s all about intention. My rest day just came out of no where, Reaction is the enemy. When you take control, you can tell yourself when to stop and when to go. If you react, you relinquish control.

Do something creative — It doesn’t have to be work-related, work on a hobby, fix things, have coffee — make coffee, cook, learn

Plan Bore yourself — You don’t need to be glued to your phone all the time, it’s ok to leave the screen. Face a wall, day dream, get bored.

Move your body — Go for a walk, Play with your children, Swim. but I do prefer going for walks, even if it’s just for 10 to 20 minutes. Baically get some sun

An unplanned day, is a wasted one.

Do you plan your free days? or do you just react?
